Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 1, 2026
NationalWineDay.org (“National Wine Day,” “we,” “us”) is run by Niche Property Marketing. This policy explains what we collect when you visit the site, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email [email protected].
The short version
- We don’t ask for your name, email or account to use the site.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.
- Blend votes are anonymous.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
What we collect
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4. It collects things like the pages you view, how you got here, your device and browser type, approximate location (city or region, based on your IP address), and actions on the site such as finding a blend match, voting, sharing, or clicking a bottle link. Google sets its own cookies to do this. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Blend votes. When you tap “This is my blend,” we save the blend recipe and add one to its vote count. To stop repeat votes we keep a scrambled, one-way code made from your IP address and the blend for that day. We can’t turn that code back into your IP address, and we delete it after about two days. We don’t link votes to you.
Your 21+ answer and site settings. If you confirm you are 21 or older, we save that answer in a cookie and in your browser’s storage for 30 days so we don’t ask again. We also save small notes in your browser, such as which blends you voted for and that you’ve seen our cookie notice. These stay on your device. See our cookie details.
Server and security logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider and Cloudflare (our network and security provider) process technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This keeps the site secure, stops abuse, and keeps it running.
If you email us. We use your email address and message only to reply and help.
Links, sharing and other sites
Wine.com and affiliate links. Bottle links go to Wine.com. Some are affiliate links. When you click one, Wine.com and its affiliate network (Rakuten Advertising) may use cookies to record that you came from us so we can earn a commission. Their privacy policies apply on their sites. See our affiliate disclosure.
Facebook and share buttons. The Facebook feed on our homepage only loads if you click “See the latest posts.” After that, Facebook may set cookies under its own policy. Share buttons (Facebook, X, WhatsApp, text and email) open those services or apps. We only pass along the link and message you choose to send.
How we use information
We use this information to run and improve the site, count blend votes, show crowd favorites, understand which features people like, keep the site secure, and answer your messages. We don’t use it to build advertising profiles about you.
We don’t sell your personal information
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share data only with the service providers above (analytics, hosting and security) so they can do their work for us, or when the law requires it.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work. You may just see the 21+ question again.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
- You can clear this site’s storage in your browser to remove your saved votes and settings.
California and other U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, you may have the right to know what personal information we have about you, ask us to delete or correct it, and opt out of its sale or sharing. We don’t sell or share it. We also don’t keep information that identifies you by name. To make a request, email [email protected]. We won’t treat you differently for using your rights. We may need to ask a few questions to confirm your request.
Age
This site is for adults of legal drinking age (21+ in the U.S.). It isn’t meant for anyone younger, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
How long we keep data
Vote-protection codes are deleted after about two days. Vote totals are kept without any personal details. Google Analytics data is kept based on our Google Analytics retention setting. Emails are kept only as long as we need them to help you.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
